Flight South

We fly into Antarctica using either a small private jet, such as a Gulfstream or Falcon, or on a much larger IL-76. The choice of plane is made close to the time of departure and can depend on weather conditions and the current logistical requirements.

The flight south lasts 5.5hrs and is as spectacular as it is exciting. It's also a good introduction to the combination of luxury and adventure that you will be experiencing in the days to come.

On board, you will see the night turn to day as we pass into the Antarctic Circle and into the land of the midnight sun. We fly across the entire Southern Ocean and pass hundreds of icebergs, some iridescent blue from compacted ice.

The plane lands on a specially prepared ice runway and our pilots are some of the best in the business with thousands of hours of experience. When the plane taxis to a standstill, members of the White Desert team will be there to greet you as one of the few who have ever set foot on Antarctica.
