On board the plane, you will see the night turn to day as we pass into the Antarctic Circle and into the land of the midnight sun.
We fly across the entire Southern Ocean and pass hundreds of icebergs, some iridescent blue from their compacted ice. The choice of plane varies according to the weather and logistics. We use an Illuyshin-IL76, Luxury Boeing 727, or a Gulfstream IV.
The plane lands on a specially prepared ice runway and our pilots are some of the best in the business. It's a thrilling flight and the perfect introduction to the combination of luxury and adventure that you will be experiencing in the days to come.
When the plane taxis to a standstill, members of the White Desert team will be there to greet you as one of the few who have ever set foot on Antarctica.
