No enviroment anywhere else on earth can prepare you for Antarctica' stark and arresting beauty. Outside is an eemense sea of ice that makes you feel as if you are on another planet.
The weather is normally mild with bright sunshine and tempeatures around -5C. With our modern polar clothing and thick winter boots, you will always be kept nice and warm.
Specially modified 4x4s then take you to our camp on the edge of the Shimacher Oasis, where you will be able to go ona number of excursions ranging in their length and difficulty. There are gentle trecks over to the 200ft cliffs on the edge of the oasis, offering amazing views out to the coast. We also visit the nearby ice grottos - natural tunnels winding through the glacier that are as surreal as they are beautiful. There is even a chance for a sauna at the Russian base!
After all these activites, we then take you back to the camp for a champagne lunch. With fantastic food, freshly prepared in Cape Town that day, you will enjoy a sumptuous meal at your leisure. Depending on the weather we will eat outside amidst the wonderful scenery.
