THE JETSET AND SOUTH POLE FLIGHT FULL ITINERARY

*This itinerary is entirely subject to weather conditions in Antarctica and is meant as a day by day guide of what you can expect.

Day Before Departure

Arrive in Cape Town, South Africa. After a safety briefing at White Desert offices, you will be invited to a cocktail party to get to know the other guests as you prepare for your flight south.

Day One

With the official destination registered as "Unknown International Airport" we fly to Antarctica (5.5 hours) and into 24hrs continuous daylight. Landing on the specialist ice runway, we will transport you by 4x4 to our luxury camp to begin the first of many activities. That afternoon, there is a hike to the high peak of the Shirmacher Oasis with views over what seems like the whole of Antarctica. For the more energetic, there is kite-skiing lessons directly outside the camp followed by rock climbing on the nearby nunatak mounain.

Day Two

We offer a long hike down to the incredible ice waves situated about 2hrs walk from our camp. We then explore the maze of ice tunnels and turquoise blue lakes, picnicking amongst the ice before the trek home again. For others, there is the option to we visit the nearby Russian science station to speak to the over wintering scientists about their ground-breaking research, followed by a sauna

SOUTH POLE FLIGHT: For those venturing to the South Pole, you will leave early on the morning in the DC3 Bassler. The plane will fly across stunning mountain ranges before landing at 83 degrees South to refuel. You will have a chance to walk around the high polar plateau before continuing onto the pole. At the South Pole itself, you will have lots of time for photos, a tour around the base and a chance to visit the souvenir shop before camping down for the night.

Day Three

We drive to the coast in our specially modified 4x4s. This drive takes you down onto the sea ice passing beautiful, frozen in icebergs along the way. Once we reach the 200ft ice barrier, you will have the chance to trek or ski amongst this stunning scenery, often with the chance of seeing Adelie penguins as well.

SOUTH POLE FLIGHT: After a night spent camping, you will be given a hearty breakfast, before boarding the plane once again for the flight back to our camp. The flight is the perfect chance to really appreciate the immense scale of Antarctica, before you return to our camp for a three-course dinner and some champagne to celebrate your achievement.

That evening, the private jet will fly both groups out of Antarctica and back to the warmth and bustle of Cape Town.
